The Persian Gulf is bordered on both sides by countries that export about 25% of the worlds crude oil and 20% of the world’s liquified natural gas (LNG).  What’s more, the two sides don’t always get along with each other:  Iran is about 95% Shia Muslim and the Arabian countries (except for Bahrain and Iraq)
